The library has two new activities staring in September. Spanish for beginners, and Yoga. There are also three new lectures on Russia, Ruskin and Emily Bronte as well as a Fashion Show.
Activities new to the library
Spanish for beginners: A five week course for those who would like to start or improve their Spanish. These lessons are being held weekly on Wednesday’s, 10.30am – 12pm, starting on September 5th.
Yoga: An activity to improve your mind and body. Hath was the original form of Yoga and is suitable for all abilities and ages. This will be held weekly on starting on Wednesday 12th September, 6.45 to 8.15pm. For further details: [email protected], www. easyyoga.co.uk or 07798787250.
Rawdon Community Library Lecture Series
Thursday 13th September: 7.30pm
Russia under Stalin by David Longley. David studied Russian at Manchester university and has retained an interest in the country, it’s history, language and culture.

Thursday 11th October: 7.30pm
John Ruskin, a tortured genius by Dr Graham Parry, Professor Emeritus York University. This will be his third visit by Dr Parry and as a former editor of The Ruskin Journal, he will once again provide an authoratative and stimulating talk.

Tuesday 27th November: 2pm
Emily Bronte, an elusive enigma by Diane Fare of the Bronte Society and Bronte Parsonage Museum. Following a successful talk on Charlotte Bronte last year, Diane returns in the bi – centenary of Emily’s birth to explore the life and work of the poet and novelist.
