Rawdon Community Library welcomes new volunteers, for whom we provide friendly support. We know that volunteer work can be enjoyable and also useful for CV’s and future job applications. Currently, about 60 volunteers take part in the varied tasks required to run an independent community library. Many undertake counter duties, for which they receive initial training.
We depend on volunteers for all our activities including the following:
- Library duties
- Publicity
- Finance
- Buildings: maintenance, design and decoration
- Interest groups
- Bookings
- Fundraising
- Health and Safety
